Young creatives between the ages of 18 to 35 years are invited to participate in KZN Rising Art Competition hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts and Culture.

The province experienced unrest which challenged social cohesion and unity and left the spirit at its record lowest since 1994. As the province recovers and rebuilds infrastructure it also wants the programme to heal the citizens to show resilience of the human spirit.

Participants must develop an image that will be used as a logo or symbol to showcase “KZN RISING” and social cohesion programme. Overarching themes must include unity, healing, diversity and social cohesion.

Entries to be presented in a PDF format, the file size must not exceed 10MB.

ID Copy is required, participants must be between ages of 18 to 30 years. Submissions must be submitted online, digital forms are available at Closing date for the competition is 20 August 2021.

Winners stand to win the following prizes: 1st prize R10 000, 2nd prize R5000, 3rd prize R3000.

This competition is part of a comprehensive intervention programme consisting of social and cultural diversity, economic inequality, moral regeneration, strengthening communication and dialogue and levelling the playing field which are the pillars of the Social Cohesion and Moral Regeneration Strategy.
